"It's important to get out into the community and give back because we do have a lot and in a lot of places a lot of people out there need our volunteer work.

You have to have a certain mindset. You have to go there thinking that you want to make a difference and really do the best you can."

"You feel this kind of, well you can't really describe it, it's like an energy of sorts that just kind of goes into you and it doesn't really go away so every time you do a small bit of what you just did, the memories come rushing back and it's just an adrenaline rush, sort of.

It not only gives you work experience so you actually get into a job, but it builds up skills that students may not have like social skills. I know that many are really shy when they need to talk to people, but when they start volunteering they open themselves, it's like it's a new person.

First and foremost, the best quality that you should have is that you have an open mind.

Don't bite off more than you can chew in the very beginning. Because I know some people who tried to rush it all. They say to themselves do ten hours today and you'll be done. But by the end or maybe the first hour, they get really tired. So, pace yourself. And just go with it."

"Volunteering is important because the time you put out for other people may affect you later on.

Well, good communication, work as a team, organized.

The more you volunteer, the better it is."

"I have done volunteering. One place was at a women's shelter where basically I just raked the leaves, I mowed the lawn and I set up a crib for them, for a baby.

Another place I worked was just this kind of chapel where homeless people would go in there and they would just get free food. And I helped serve the food to them.

There should be a lot more young people volunteering just 'cause they have so much to offer. They're energetic and they can do a lot more than let's say an older person can do."

"At one community centre centre I helped kids develop skills in sports such as volleyball and basketball and at the other community centre I helped set up for a karate tournament and a senior banquet."
